hvv switchh is a complete package for a new approach to connected and shared mobility in Hamburg, Germany. The core of the packaging is a mobility app which is designed for using and switching different means of transport like a breeze. Now you have it all in one app. For instance carsharing like @moia.io, subway, trains, ferrys, bikes – you name it.
Design studio @karlanders.de was responsible for developing a new brand, including logo, corporate design, website, campaign, signage – and motion branding. They approached me for the latter part in early 2019.
The logo design is based on Hamburgs official coat of arms – the Hammaburg. I was asked to bring the iconic rocket logo to life. It was my responibility to create logo animations, to define motion behaviours, to show the easy switching between various means of transport and to create a motion packaging for the motion campaign that sets of in 2020 online and in all cinemas in Hamburg.
The animations should in general stand in clear and clean contrast to the otherwise bold typographical campaign statements. Plus they should always be connected to the switching mechanic which really was the main idea of this brand. Spontaneous. Simple. Vivid. Always on the move. Hamburg.
