In 2019 @karlanders.de asked me if I could create a keyvisual as well as some motion branding animations for their special office place in St. Pauli (Hamburg, Germany) that they share with creatives from all disciplines. Designers, filmmakers, copywriters, photographers, start-ups, NGOs – you name it.

Based on their logo design, the new interior design of the office and the typographical jet static layouts I developed a simple and effective motion system for social media. The core idea was formed out of the history of this place. Built in the 70s following neo-brutalism, the building is an architectural eye-catcher in Hamburgs most popular district and was used for religious purposes in the past. Every wording and typographical sign in the office was created with a pun in mind regarding the former religious use. Not in a sense of being rude rather than putting a smile on your face.

What would fit more than bold and clean motion clips that would feature one of the most iconic religious symbols in a fun way. The hovering candles were born. They perfectly describe the out-of-the-box-thinking an office like this encourages and also embrace a warm feeling of secureness and homecoming.

But there is also a sidekick: The standard yellow office lamp that was equipped with a halo of course. The color scheme features green for hope and also a nice pink – for a rosy future.

Amen.
